Christmas Weekend at Emanuel is an exciting time this year.
Sunday there is one service at 10:30 AM. This service will be casual in nature and festive in spirit. The children will be presenting several songs and readings. Since we won’t be offering our normal childcare and children’s ministries that day, there will be activity packs for the little ones.
As part of our Christmas Day service, we’re having a “Christmas Gifts for Jesus” offering. During our “worship in giving” time while we receive our regular offering, there will be an opportunity for families and children to bring their “Christmas Gift” to a large gift box in on the platform. Here are a few ideas and things to note for this offering.
- Children are encouraged to participate. This is a wonderful opportunity to model and guide our children to see the blessedness of giving rather than receiving, but also instruct them to recognize Christ as the central part of their Christmas Day. Loose change and cards are very appropriate. My own kids are sorting through their change banks for what they plan to give that day.
- There will be Christmas Offering envelopes in each bulletin Sunday morning. Please use these for your Christmas Gift.
- Non-monetary gifts are also appropriate. Below are some items that the church could use that would be a benefit to keep us stocked up and lessen the expense of purchasing them in the future.
Here are some items that would be helpful gift ideas for the church. Feel free to pile them up on the platform by the gift box.
- Paper Towels
- Paper Plates
- Bathroom Tissue
- Cleaning products
- Lifeway Gift Cards
- Lowes or Home Depot Gift Cards
- 6 foot lifetime tables
We want to thank you in advance for your generosity this Christmas and throughout the year.
If you’re unable to attend the service on Christmas Day you may still participate in the offering by giving online here.
